The Radiant Wellness
Center
Physical
Therapy
We offer a
variety of physical therapy modalities at the Radiant
Wellness Center. These healing approaches are
especially useful for soft tissue (muscle, ligaments and
tendons) injuries that occur in auto accidents, sports
and work injuries.
These include:
¨
Muscle stim – pads applied
over the skin conduct a low level of electrical
stimulus. Using alternating surges, the muscles
contract and relax many times in a ten minute session.
This helps the muscles relax, reset, and remember how
they supposed to be. In addition to healing after
injuries, muscle stim helps chronic trigger points such
as those found with fibromyalgia.
¨
Light therapy – a form of
laser therapy that introduces high levels of photons
into the body. This light energy penetrates up to two
inches and provides the cells with energy for repair and
regrowth. When billions cells heal, the area is
healed. Light therapy is especially useful for Achilles
tendonitis, plantar fascitis, tennis and golfer’s elbow,
and other inflamed joints. This approach has FDA
approval for relief of arthritis and chronic pain.
¨
Hydrotable – a warm, closed
water bed with jets that massages the entire back. A
ten minute session provides deep relaxation of body and
mind. The hydrotable is especially useful after auto
accidents and other injuries in which the entire back
has been strained and/or sprained.
¨
Heat – usually used with
muscle stim. Our thermaphore units provide moist heat
for additional relaxation and healing benefits.
¨
Massage therapy – our
licensed massage therapist is trained in neuromuscular
problems that requires specific massage work. Chronic
trigger points can be gently but firmly worked on with
different massage techniques.
¨
Neck and low back traction
devices – these units are for home use and assist
chronic spinal problems with degenerated discs, abnormal
curves, and misaligned vertebrae. These devices are
pumped up with air to help restore normal curves, open
disc spaces, and gently realign subluxated (misaligned)
vertebrae. Pre and post MRI studies with these devices
were conducted by renown neurosurgeon Norman Shealy,
M.D., and show significant improvement in bulged and
ruptured discs.
¨
Braces for ankles, knees, low
back, wrists, and elbows and cervical (neck) collars
provide support to injured joints. These allow
stability during healing and can often allow patients to
resume their job and daily activities sooner without set
backs.
¨
Orthotics – we provide two
levels of shoe inserts: a generic version that costs
only $28 ($50 SRP) and custom molded Spinal Pelvic
Stabilizer ™ orthotics.
